On this page you will find answers to questions that we are commonly asked about petals, flowers and our free samples.
The freeze drying process is natural and maintains the original size, shape and colour of fresh petals. All our petals are lovingly picked in the UK, ensuring the highest quality. They are soft to touch, 100% biodegradable and will not wilt or go brown.
We prefer to send the petals for your wedding or function about one month before your event. This means you can order and receive your items well in advance of the day.
We can however send products at short notice too when necessary – with a next working day delivery option being available Monday to Friday – if the order is placed before 1pm. An order placed on Friday before 1pm will be delivered on the following Monday.
You can find out more on our Delivery information page.
They should be stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and in their original packaging.
With the exception of the dyed petals, our freeze dried petals will not stain, have no chemicals added and are 100% biodegradable.
The blue, green and rainbow rose petals have however been dyed, and we cannot therefore guarantee that they will remain colourfast.
Freeze drying is a scientific process in which fresh flowers are frozen, and then the ice (water) is slowly removed under vacuum. There are no chemicals used in this process.
The flowers mostly retain their original shape, colour and size. Some change colour a little through the process – most darkening slightly.
Freeze dried flowers are long lasting, environmentally friendly and biodegradable. They are beautiful and can be kept for many months.
Preserved in this context means that the flower has been treated by the use of dyes and/or chemicals. The resulting flower requires no water, and will remain beautiful and vibrant for many months.
Preserved flowers and petals should not be used in wet or damp conditions, and may stain fabrics and surfaces.
